The Lost Critter: Street Art Project
Lee Krasner: "You've done it, Pollock. You've cracked it wide open."
I imagine that is the sentence every artist would love to hear. The Lost Critter Project certainly is not the project that is cracking anything in the art world wide open. However, on a personal level, it is a step closer to combining my pop expressionist critters with an interactive environment.
The Lost Critter Project
Twenty two critters were created and placed at various location in Downtown Apex, NC. On benches, curbs, on top of newspaper boxes, on brick wall and even tied to poles and street signs.
Each critter held a sign that read:
Help! I'm Lost!
Thank goodness you found me! Please take me back to the Halle Cultural Arts Center, 237 North Salem Street in downtown Apex. I miss my brothers and sisters!
Back at the Halle Cultural Arts Center we place a Lost & Found box with the hopes that some of the critters might be found and returned to the gallery, where it just so happened, we were exhibiting.
To date, 18 of the original 22 have been returned. So keep looking :)

Congrats on a successful return of your critters. May they all find their way home.
P.S. I blogged this.
What an amazing project! Your son did an excellent job on the video, creativity obviously runs in your family! Take this show on the road after all the critters are found, bring them to another town! :)
I've always wanted to do this; I think your project's great!
