Logos. So not my thing.
But my pastor, Billy, asked if I could come up with something. So I tried. I tried a lot. I did a whole bunch. I hated them all.
Then Billy asked me how they were coming along. So I figured I better try, again.
And so this is what I came up with.

I think it looks great. You can too do logos.
I would suggest changing the angle of the cross so it's a wee bit more upright, it didn't read for me right away and I almost saw a rifle and target. I'm guessing that's not the message you want to convey with this.

I like it! And I agree with Karen, you CAN do logos.
I am a bit concerned about our dear friend Karen, though. I'd like to put her through a series of ink blot tests to find out what she sees. ;0P
Update: I just found out the design was approved. wow, i am a logo designer! :P
