Getting Ready for the Halle Show
and
The Lost and Found Project

A shot of my "studio". This is the art created for the Halle Cultural Arts Show starting May 12th. I either need a bigger place to work or I need to start making smaller art!

Box Turtle is from a new collection I'm working on titled Box Beasts.

Gator Box is also one in the Box Beasts collections. Currently, there is a deer, a porcupine, and a cat in the works.

But the project I'm most excited about is titled Lost and Found.

I’m making these little guys out of foam board, about 10” tall. I’m making a bunch of them, 15, 20...or so. They are numbered and come with a little piece of paper that reads:

“Help! I’m lost! Thank goodness you found me. Please return me to the Halle Cultural Arts center in Downtown Apex. I miss my brothers and sisters!”

When I have the show at the Halle, I’m going to set up a lost and found box. Then I’m going to scatter the critters all over town, in public places. It will be interesting to see how many of the critters find their way back.

I’m excited about this because it combines my love of street art with my new found love, interactive art. Did you see the tweenbots site? If not, go here, read the page then watch the video... it was my total inspiration... and i'm hoping not a complete rip off :)
